There has been rain.\u00a0 Quite a lot of rain.\u00a0 And the temperature has been dropping.\u00a0 But it’s still good to get out and appreciate the beautiful place we live.\u00a0 Here around Burnaby Mountain, there is a lot of green.\u00a0 And trails for walking.\u00a0 Nature to be enjoyed up close.\u00a0 I did that on the weekend, meeting a friend to walk at Barnet Marine Park.\u00a0 When I got home, I was happy to settle down with a blanket and tea and, of course, a book.
\nThis is reading weather.
\nWhat are you reading?\u00a0 I’ve got several books on the go right now, one of which is Ijeoma Oluo’s So You Want to Talk about Race.\u00a0 <\/em>Like Jason Reynolds and Ibram X. Kendi’s Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You, <\/em>it is not a comfortable book.\u00a0 But both are important.
\n\"\"<\/a>I chose to have ‘Mountain Read Around the World’, to help us learn about and gain some understanding of others, through stories from people around the world.\u00a0 These two books are teaching me about how life is for others who live where I do; many families have been in North America as long as, or longer than, my family, but their experience of life has been and continues to be so different than mine. \u00a0 This is knowledge and understanding that I need, that we all need.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
