Monday was National School Library Day. \u00a0We are very lucky in Burnaby. \u00a0We have a District that supports libraries with certified Teacher-Librarians and funding for resources. \u00a0So, thank you to our Trustees and our District staff who continue to provide\u00a0all of us with this wonderful resource. \nMonday was therefore\u00a0the day that the new Mountain Reads books\u00a0were\u00a0revealed. \u00a0This year we have 11 titles.
\nMaybe I shouldn’t share my favourite already, but I have to tell you that I love<\/strong> The Martian. \u00a0<\/em>I opened the book and I couldn’t put it down. \u00a0It’s science fiction, but really not too far from reality. \u00a0And all the science the main character uses to survive on Mars is real science. \u00a0Such a great story! \u00a0So when the movie came out this month, I dragged my family to see it right away. \u00a0It’s really good, too. \u00a0Two thumbs up!
