{"id":708,"date":"2011-06-03T10:04:09","date_gmt":"2011-06-03T17:04:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/10.155.6.59\/south-counselling\/"},"modified":"2024-10-03T08:58:49","modified_gmt":"2024-10-03T15:58:49","slug":"service-hours","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/moscrop-studentservices\/scholarships\/service-hours\/","title":{"rendered":"Service Hours"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Service Awards are given to students at each grade level who have performed service to the school <strong>on their own time<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Some examples of things which would be considered service are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Working after school for a teacher<\/li>\n<li>Make-up or costume design for school plays<\/li>\n<li>Scorekeeping for games<\/li>\n<li>Assisting new students at lunch or after-school<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring a grade 8-10 homeroom during Collaboration Time<\/li>\n<li>Volunteering to help set up for evening school events<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Those which <strong>DO NOT <\/strong>count as service, as the student receives direct benefit from these activities would be:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Being a member of the school band<\/li>\n<li>Playing on a team<\/li>\n<li>Being part of the cast in the school play<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Students can collect service hours from the start of the school year to the end of the school year.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">&#x2666; \u00a0NOTE:\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong>Service Hours Record Sheets can be picked up from the main office, with Ms. Clements.
