Math Contests in Burnaby<\/p>\n
Elementary<\/p>\n
Burnaby schools participate in the CEMC<\/a> math contest, the Gauss, in mid-May of each year. Details of the Gauss are found here. The Gauss is open to students in Gr 7 or below. The contest is set up and run at each school. **Spring 2020: CEMC will decide if the Gauss is to go ahead by mid-late April.<\/p>\n We also have our two own local math contests: for Grade 6 (and below) students we hold the Mirzakhani Math Contest; and for Grade 5 (and below) students, the Abel. Details of each of these contests can be found in the drop down menu above.<\/p>\n Burnaby also runs its own STEM Video Contest each spring, again, details in the drop down menu.<\/p>\n Secondary<\/p>\n Burnaby secondary school students have the opportunity to participate in the CEMC<\/a> math contests and a variety of other contests as determined by the local school’s math department.
