Information Children
Offers a Parent Helpline, Parent Coaching, and Parenting Pamphlets to families free of charge

Family Doctors
All doctors in the province are now offering their services by telephone, as well as in person if needed

Crisis Centre
Offering free online courses for managing stress and burnout

Child and Youth Mental Health
Children and youth can access free and voluntary community-based mental health supports and services in B.C. – in fact, Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) teams currently have about 93 intake clinics for children, youth and their families at convenient locations throughout B.C. Intake clinic times vary and can take up to 45 minutes. Find a CYMH clinic near you

If the parent was in the hospital, Fraser Health also provides grief counselling

If the parent has coverage from their health care plan or has the financial means, they could look into a psychologist or counsellor (although, more often than not, counsellors are not covered by health care plans)
