French Experiences Outside of School

  • Camp Virgule – 4 day and 5 day week day camp where children from 6 to 12 years of age can practice their French while having fun
  • BC Family French Camp – camp where children from French Immersion and other French-speaking children bring their families along to camp. Parents do not have to be able to speak French to join in
  • Maillardville French Summer Camp – 4 day and 5 week day camps for children from 5 to 12 years of age can enjoy activities in French
  • CPF Burnaby Fun with French Summer Camp – a day camp where campers can enjoy sports, arts and activities in a French language environment
  • Alliance Française – Spring break and summer classes
  • Experiences Canada – a national registered charity that helps young Canadians (ages 12-17) explore their country through reciprocal exchanges, forums, conferences and other opportunities to travel
  • Explore – an intensive French Immersion program that is offered during the spring and summer for students aged 13-15 years of age.
  • YMCA Summer Work Student Exchange – a six-week program that offers youth ages 16-17 the opportunity to gain paid work experience, practice their second official language skills, and discover another community within Canada.
  • Scouts Francophones – A Scouting group that teaches scouting principles to children ages 7-21 to French Immersion and Francophone youth.
