Janet Nordstrand has conducted Sound Wave Handbell Choir since it’s first year as an ensemble in 1999.<\/p>\n
Janet teaches Kindergarten to Grade 7 Music at Ecole Inman in Burnaby. She conducts Sound Wave Handbell Choir, a district ensemble and a school vocal choir. She has also conducted school based handbell groups and a group of alumni ringers named Audire.<\/p>\n
Janet is the recipient of the 2016 B.C. Music Educators Association award for Outstanding Professional Education in Elementary Music.<\/p>\n
An active clinician, she has presented workshops to teachers in BC and all over Canada. Topics of interest have been shared at national handbell conferences, national Orff conference and at the international handbell conference.<\/p>\n
A passionate director, she directed 750 ringers in a mass choir at the International Handbell Symposium in Vancouver in July, 2016.<\/p>\n
Currently Secretary of the Burnaby Music Eduator Association, she is past board member of Phoenix Choir and the British Columbia Guild of English Handbell Ringers.<\/p>\n
