At this unique event, designed specifically for grade 11-12 students, you will have the opportunity to connect with inspiring leaders and mentors who are making groundbreaking discoveries and innovations in research |\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/bcchr.ca\/sites\/default\/files\/Public-Education\/poster-2026-women-in-science.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Event Poster.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Women+ in Science participants can expect to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hear more about the latest in health research during our keynote lecture.<\/li>\n<li>Meet incredible leaders in research who are shaping the future of health science. Discover what inspired them to pursue careers in science, the challenges they&#8217;ve faced, and how they&#8217;ve overcome them.<\/li>\n<li>Be part of the discussion! This isn&#8217;t your typical career panel. You&#8217;ll have the chance to join small rotating groups of students, each paired with a Women+ in Science mentor. You&#8217;ll be able to ask them questions, share your thoughts, and gain valuable insights from these incredible leaders.\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/bcchr.ca\/news\/bcchr-celebrates-women-science-mentorship-event-high-school-students\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Read more about our incredible 2025 mentors here<\/a>.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div align=\"center\"><\/div>\n<h2>Interested in Participating?<\/h2>\n<p>Grade 11-12 students across BC and the Yukon now have two ways to participate:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/bcchr.ca\/women-in-science\/in-person\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Women+ In Science\u00a0\u2013 In-Person: Wednesday, February 11, 2026<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nHeld at BC Children&#8217;s Hospital Research Institute,\u00a0938 West 28th Avenue, Vancouver, BC<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/bcchr.ca\/women-in-science\/virtual\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Women+ In Science\u00a0\u2013 Virtual: Thursday, February 12, 2026<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nHeld over Zoom<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Due to the popularity of the program, students may register for only\u00a0<strong>ONE<\/strong>\u00a0edition of the event, either in-person OR virtual.<\/p>\n<p>Registration for both options opens on\u00a0<strong>Monday, January 12, 2026, at 9:00 am PST\u00a0<\/strong>and closes on<strong>\u00a0Sunday, January 18, 2026, at 11:59 pm PST.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"text-align-center\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>What is International Day of Women and Girls in Science? In 2015,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.unesco.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UNESCO<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unwomen.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UN Women<\/a>\u00a0established an annual day to honour the important role women and girls play in science and technology.
