LFS creates changemakers and systems-thinkers taking on the urgent challenges facing the planet, today. Our students are equipped with the tools to launch meaningful careers that will shape the future of land, food, agricultural science, human health and animal wellbeing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you are you a student at Burnaby Central Secondary School who might be interested in learning more about the programs offered in LFS, we are offering a number of ways to connect with our team and learn more as they prepare their <span data-markjs=\"true\">UBC<\/span> application.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Taste of LFS Virtual Series (Monday, November 20<sup>th<\/sup> &#8211; Thursday, November 23<sup>rd<\/sup>, 2023)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Love Science and care about animal welfare or how food impacts community health? \u00a0Join us in this week-long series of virtual events to discover how you can connect your passions to your university degree. More details, will be available on our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.landfood.ubc.ca\/prospective\/lfs-events\/land-food-you\/\">website<\/a> in mid-October, including information on how to register. You can customize your Taste of LFS experience by signing up for the sessions you\u2019re most interested in.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>School visits and presentations <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our interactive and hands-on workshops connect BC high school curriculum to what students can learn across all majors offered in LFS. \u00a0Teachers or students involved in class work or extracurricular clubs related to topics such as climate action, animal welfare, or health\/food sciences can request customized workshops.
