I graduated from Trent University with a bachelor\u2019s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with a specialization in health sciences. I\u2019m currently a graduate student in <span class=\"s1\">Dr. Robert Huber\u2019s lab <\/span>at Trent University. My research revolves around studying the role of one of the causative proteins, Mfsd8 (major facilitator superfamily domain 8), in a rare form of neurodegenerative disease, known as Batten disease, using the microbe Dictyostelium discoideum (a.k.a. slime mold) as a model.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Schedule:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Date: June 26, 2021 (Saturday)<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Time: 1:00-2:00 pm<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Location: Virtual via Zoom<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Grade: 9-12<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">Registration link: <\/span>http:\/\/websurvey.sfu.ca\/survey\/402624109<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The meeting link will be opened 30 minutes before the talk starts for students to test their setup (e.g. is your audio working?). The deadline to register is June 20 (Sunday) at 11:59 pm.
