Application due this Friday, Jan. 15th"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At the first online Mini Med School Symposium, you&#8217;ll have the opportunity to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Virtually interact with world-class researchers and health professionals.<\/li>\n<li>Learn about the latest medical research happening in BC.<\/li>\n<li>Explore the diverse careers available in science and medicine.<\/li>\n<li>Network with like-minded students from across BC.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Curriculum<\/h2>\n<p>The Mini Med School Symposium will be hosted online in March 2021 over two half days. Each day will feature a different theme and different schedule of presenters.<\/p>\n<p><i>Please note: Due to space restrictions, students will only be eligible to register or participate in one of the days below, either March 3, 2021\u00a0<strong>OR<\/strong>\u00a0March 4, 2021.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/bcchr.ca\/scientific-discoveries\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Day #1: Scientific Discoveries |\u00a0Wednesday, March 3, 2021 | 1:00 \u2013 4:30 pm<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/bcchr.ca\/transforming-care\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Day #2: Transforming Care |\u00a0Thursday, March 4, 2021 | 1:00 \u2013 4:30 pm<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Presented by the UBC\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cmmt.ubc.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Centre for Molecular Medicine &amp; Therapeutics<\/a>, students registering to attend on either March 3, 2021 OR March 4, 2021 are also eligible to participate in the\u00a0bonus event below if interested<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/bcchr.ca\/genetic-research\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bonus &#8211; Exploring Genetic Research | Thursday, March 4, 2021 | 10:00 &#8211; 11:30 am<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Interested in Participating?\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>The Mini Med School Symposium will be a virtual learning platform. Participation is free, but participants will require access to a computer, tablet or smartphone and a stable internet connection.<\/p>\n<p>Registration is restricted to BC students from grades 10\u201312. To maximize interactions between students and presenters, only 100 students will be enrolled for each day.<\/p>\n<p>The Mini Med Symposium is a special event held outside the classroom and will be hosted on a school day.
