Women in Orthopaedics workshop. Apply before May 24th!

On behalf of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at BC Children’s Hospital and Department of Orthopaedics at UBC, we are reaching out to all BC high schools to invite interested students to attend the annual flagship Women In Orthopaedics (WORTH) workshop on Saturday, June 6th, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.

This workshop is open to all young women in high schools (grades 10-12), including women-identifying individuals and non-binary and gender non-conforming students interested in pursuing a career in healthcare. We aim to provide more insight and clarity on careers particularly in the areas of orthopaedics and engineering. We also aim to have an interactive set of sessions including hands-on learning workshops and career panels featuring incredible women orthopaedic surgeons, researchers, engineers and allied health workers.

We have attached a flyer for the event here with a tentative schedule outlined, **please note schedule is subject to change based on registration numbers but date and start time are set**. The workshop will take place in-person at BC Children’s Hospital.

We encourage you to share this event with anyone who may be able to help spread the word about this opportunity.

Details for registration can be found here: https://ubc.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_1XJPwIPVpcUuytU. Deadline to submit the workshop application is May 24, 2026.
