The scholarships aim to create awareness of this\u00a0union within high schools and provide financial assistance to worthy students. This initiative will encourage youth to become more involved in union activity or social justice activities.<br \/>\nHere is the criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Scholarship is offered to a high school student in each of the Union of National<br \/>\nEmployees\u2019 regions.<\/li>\n<li>This scholarship is intended for full-time or part-time study at a post-secondary<br \/>\ninstitution.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants must submit a completed application form to the Union of National<br \/>\nEmployees <strong>no later than March 31<\/strong>. <strong>They must also submit a 1200 to 1500-word <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>essay<\/strong> detailing how the union movement has helped to build the social values that<br \/>\nCanadians hold dear.<\/li>\n<li>In reviewing essays, passion, content and knowledge of the subject matter\u00a0are part of the evaluation criteria.<\/li>\n<li>The scholarships will be awarded in each of the Union of National Employees<br \/>\nrespective regions.<\/li>\n<li>Recipients must provide proof of registration before a cheque will be released to<br \/>\nthem.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For more information on application guidelines &amp; awards click\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.une-sen.org\/what_we_do\/hea\/hs_scholarship_crit_e.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The application form can be found on <a href=\"http:\/\/en.une-sen.org\/what_we_do\/hea\/hs_scholarship_app.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">this website<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Please ensure that the criteria is met and application form is completed correctly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Deadline March 31, 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Union of National Employees\u2019\u00a0(UNE) high school scholarships are designed to highlight union principles, as well as promote the union\u00a0and the labour movement in a positive way.
