Beginning in the 2015\/16 school year, winners will receive a $1250 scholarship voucher to use towards their post-secondary tuition.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"body\">\n<p>Students can apply for this scholarship through their school district office or contact their school counsellor for information.\u00a0 Independent school students should apply through their independent school authority.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>To be eligible for this scholarship you must:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/content\/education-training\/k-12\/support\/provincial-scholarships#\" target=\"_self\">Meet the basic eligibility requirements<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Meet criteria determined by the local scholarship committee, which requires a student to demonstrate outstanding achievement in any of the following areas:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Indigenous Languages and Culture<\/strong>, demonstrated at school or in the community<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fine Arts<\/strong> (e.g., Visual Arts, Dance, Drama, Music)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Applied Skills<\/strong> (e.g., Business Ed, Technology Ed, Home Economics)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Physical Activity<\/strong> (e.g., Athletics, Dance, Gymnastics, not limited to Physical Education)<\/li>\n<li><strong>International Languages<\/strong> with Integrated Resource Packages (IRPs) or External Assessments, including A.P. and I.B. courses<\/li>\n<li><strong>Community Service<\/strong> (Volunteer Activity), which includes demonstration of local and global issues and cultural awareness<\/li>\n<li><strong>Technical and Trades Training<\/strong> (e.g., Carpentry, Automotive, Mechanics, Cook Training)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Fulfill the B.C. graduation requirements of either the 2004 Graduation Program or the Adult Graduation Program by August 31st of the student\u2019s graduating year<\/li>\n<li>Have not previously received a District\/Authority Award or a District\/Authority Scholarship<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>NOTE: IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS SCHOLARSHIP PLEASE SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH MS.FUJIKI FIRST BEFORE HANDING IN AN APPLICATION FORM.
