{"id":270,"date":"2020-09-21T13:11:44","date_gmt":"2020-09-21T20:11:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/brantford-library\/?p=270"},"modified":"2020-09-21T13:12:03","modified_gmt":"2020-09-21T20:12:03","slug":"welcome-back","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/brantford-library\/2020\/09\/welcome-back\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcome Back!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome Back!<\/p>\n<p>It is so great to see so many of you back here at Brantford.\u00a0 Although the library is not fully open yet, we are in the process of planning how to run the library as safely as possible.\u00a0 In the meantime, here are some great sites I found for staff, students and families to help support learning.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.weareteachers.com\/resources-learning-home\/\">We are teachers<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 This site is great for teachers and parents looking to enrich student learning.\u00a0 They have an area dedicated to being back to school which has everything from author read-alouds to grade specific activities.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/learning.burnabyschools.ca\/\"><strong>Burnaby<\/strong> <strong>School District Continuing Education<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0 This is still a helpful site for additional learning resources and fun activities to try out.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/KDs5d_qFbEs\"><strong>The Day you Begin.<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0 This is a read-aloud of a great beginning of the year story book, read by the author Jacqueline Woodson, as part of a Netflix Jr. series called <em>Bookmarks: Celebrating Black Voices.<\/em>\u00a0 The reading and visuals are lovely and the author even goes into some detail about the symbolism in some of the illustrations (hint: check out the rulers in the book).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome Back!
