{"id":90,"date":"2020-04-27T17:15:04","date_gmt":"2020-04-28T00:15:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/brantford-library\/?page_id=90"},"modified":"2020-05-29T16:13:46","modified_gmt":"2020-05-29T23:13:46","slug":"french-resources","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/brantford-library\/french-resources\/","title":{"rendered":"French Resources"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here are number of French sites that will help support your literacy skills when you are not at school.\u00a0 They are all free (some only temporarily until the end of June) and many also include English books and resources.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tumblebooklibrary.com\/Home.aspx?categoryID=77\">Tumblebooks<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 This is part of our district resources and has both English and French books.\u00a0 Some are read along books and others are simply eBooks that you read on a device.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.getepic.com\/app\/explore-topics\/151\"><strong>Epic.<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0 This site has a large selection of French (and English) digital books and videos. This is a site that requires a login and usually requires a paid subscription, however, it is temporarily free.\u00a0 If you would like me to send you an access code (which is good until the end of June) you can have a parent email me the request.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/ebookids.com\/fr\/livres-enfants\/fr-Francais\/\">e<strong>BookKids.<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0 This site offers a number of French (and English) digital books for Free.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/jelis-free.rkpublishing.com\/create-account\"><strong>Je lis, je lis, litt\u00e9ratie!<\/strong><\/a> This site offers free French readers for teachers to use with students online (up to two classes, until June 30, 2020).\u00a0 The books have an optional audio feature and some additional resources to support the system as well.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.iletaitunehistoire.com\/\">Il etait une histoire<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong>Here are a number of French and English stories available at no cost.\u00a0 Some have audio available and the topics range from poems to documentaries.\u00a0 I think <em>Cocorico<\/em> is my favorite so far.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pearsoncanadaschool.com\/index.cfm?locator=PS3eZw\">PearsonCanada<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong> Pearson Canada has a number of French and English texts and activities available until the end of June.\u00a0 There are different options and programs available such as\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/mabiblio.pearsonerpi.com\/fr\/produits\">MaBibli<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/pearsonathome.onthehub.com\/WebStore\/ProductsByMajorVersionList.aspx\">Texidium (Kivuto)<\/a> which requires a login that lasts 60 days.\u00a0 Teachers, it is worth checking out the parent pages as well, as they are different and seem to have a lot of practice pages and activities.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ici.radio-canada.ca\/premiere\/enfants-et-famille\">Radio-Canada Premiere<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 There are some great songs, audiobooks and podcasts available suitable to a large age range.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.successcolaire.ca\/la-classe-en-ligne\"><strong>La Class En Ligne<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0 This is a series of daily classes available for grades 1-6 taught by Marie-\u00c8ve L\u00e9vesque&#8211; she is a well known teacher in Quebec.\u00a0 A special thank you to our library assistant Mme. Godbout for sharing this one!<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/stories.audible.com\/start-listen\"><strong>Audible Stories<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0 This is also a temporary audiobook site that has been created by Amazon.\u00a0 Normally, Audible requires a monthly membership fee to access its audiobooks, however a select number of children and teen books are available for the time being.\u00a0 It has books in French, English and a number of other languages.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.idello.org\/en\/discover\"><strong>Idello.<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0 This site contains a number of videos, activities, songs, games, websites in French to support learning.\u00a0 Information is available for a range of subjects and an account is required.\u00a0 Thanks to Mme.
