Here are a number of online Indigenous Resources to support your curriculum:<\/p>\n

  1. \u00a0Indigenous Storybooks.<\/a>\u00a0 This site has a number of free Indigenous eBooks that are aimed at early primary level readers.\u00a0 Most of them are available in French and English, have audio and the ability to download the PDF.<\/li>\n
  2. Canoe Kids.<\/a>\u00a0 This is part of our district online learning resources and is also accessible through our school site.\u00a0 You will need our school login to access these resources (email me please if you don’t remember it).<\/li>\n
  3. FNESC.<\/a>\u00a0 This is the First Nations Education Steering Committee and it has a number of resources available including some recommendations for online learning.<\/li>\n
  4. Know BC<\/a>.\u00a0 This is the online edition of the Encyclopedia of British Columbia.\u00a0 There are a number of articles and loads of information about BC and Indigenous Peoples.<\/li>\n
  5. First Voices.<\/a>\u00a0 This site provides information about first languages and teaches words and phrases in a variety of BC languages.<\/li>\n
  6. Indigenous Peoples Atlas of Canada.<\/a>\u00a0 There is an online version available of this atlas and it has a tonne of information.\u00a0 The reading level is for older students (grades 6+), but the information could be modified for younger learners.<\/li>\n
  7. National Film Board of Canada (NFB)<\/a>.\u00a0 There are a variety of educational videos on this site and the videos should be previewed for age appropriate viewing.\u00a0 The “Education” section have a series of videos in an Indigenous Voices playlist found here.<\/a><\/li>\n
  8. Martin Family Initiative.<\/a> This organization was created to Indigenous education and support learning of Indigenous experiences.\u00a0 Their are a number of lessons available in both French<\/a> and English<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
