{"id":506,"date":"2017-05-16T20:22:54","date_gmt":"2017-05-16T20:22:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/alpha-studentservices\/?p=506"},"modified":"2017-05-16T20:22:54","modified_gmt":"2017-05-16T20:22:54","slug":"online-post-secondary-institution-psi-selections-for-2017-graduates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/alpha-studentservices\/2017\/05\/16\/online-post-secondary-institution-psi-selections-for-2017-graduates\/","title":{"rendered":"Online Post-Secondary Institution (PSI) Selections for 2017 Graduates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Online Post-Secondary Institution (PSI) Selections for 2017 Graduates<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Please encourage Grade 12 students to complete the Online PSI Selections Form if they are applying to a PSI this school year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Note the deadline dates for students to make their selections:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Interim deadline is May 4<\/li>\n<li>Final deadline is July 14<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"746\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Post-Secondary Institution (PSI) Selections Form<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Students access the PSI Selections Form by logging into the Student Secure Web (SSW), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bced.gov.bc.ca\/exams\/tsw\/tsw\/student\/\">www.bced.gov.bc.ca\/exams\/tsw\/tsw\/student\/<\/a>, and clicking the menu option &#8220;<strong>Post Secondary Institutions Selections<\/strong>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p><em><u>&nbsp;<\/u><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Note<\/u><\/strong>: Information about creating a Student Secure Web (SSW) account or resolving forgotten passwords can be found on page 2 of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bced.gov.bc.ca\/exams\/trx_updates\/pdf\/psi_selections_instructions.pdf#page=2\">PSI Selections Instructions<\/a> document.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Students who have forgotten their password <em>and<\/em> have not logged in to their SSW account in the past year must recreate their account using the \u201c<u>Create Account<\/u>\u201d link \u2013 a password reset is not required.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Instructions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cOnline PSI Selection Instructions\u201d document is available at: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bced.gov.bc.ca\/exams\/trx_updates\/\">www.bced.gov.bc.ca\/exams\/trx_updates\/<\/a>. The instructions include snap shots of all the screens students will use to select PSIs.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Distribution of Transcript Information and Deadlines<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Interim Transcript Information<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>PSI Selections Form Deadline: <strong>May 4, 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interim Transcript information sent to selected PSIs: May 8, 2017<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Interim transcript information is available for distribution to the BC Electronic PSI List, the Ontario Universities\u2019 Application Centre (OUAC), the University of Alberta and the University of Calgary.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Final Transcript Information<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>PSI Selections Form Deadline: <strong>July 14, 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Final Transcript information sent to all selected PSIs: Late July 2017<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Notes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Confirming selections made<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Students only need to complete their PSI Selections form once in the current school year. Students may add to their selections at any time up until July 15, 2017. A maximum of six PSIs can be selected from Sections 2 and 3 of the online form.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>After making selections, students may print a confirmation page for reference purposes, and at any point students can view their selections on the SSW by using the &#8220;View PSI Selections&#8221; menu option. PSI selections appear on the Transcript Verification Reports (TVRs) beginning in April as well as the <strong><em>PSI Selections Student Summary Report<\/em><\/strong> detailed below.<\/p>\n<p><em><u>&nbsp;<\/u><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><u>Note<\/u><\/em><em>: Requests to send <strong>final<\/strong> transcripts to additional PSIs can be made for a fee by submitting an online transcript order <strong>after July 1<\/strong> at: <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bced.gov.bc.ca\/transcript\/\"><em>www.bced.gov.bc.ca\/transcript\/<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Student Name Confirmation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Students should ensure that their name on their transcript matches the name they provide in their applications to post-secondary institutions. It can also be used to confirm which PSIs students have selected. The report shows:<\/p>\n<p>1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Each student in your school who has made one or more PSI Selections for 2017 to date.<\/p>\n<p>2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Each current Grade 12 and Grade &#8220;AD&#8221; student who has <strong>not<\/strong> made any 2017 PSI Selections to date.<\/p>\n<p>This report is updated daily until May 4 and then at least weekly until mid-July.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Schools access this PDF report by logging into the <strong>School Secure Web (SSW)<\/strong> site: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bced.gov.bc.ca\/exams\/tsw\/princ_terms.jsp\">www.bced.gov.bc.ca\/exams\/tsw\/princ_terms.jsp<\/a>.
