There are two intakes per year in January and August.<\/p>\n<p>BCIT Nursing Program <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bcit.ca\/study\/programs\/8870bsn\" target=\"_blank\">Website Link<\/a>:<\/p>\n<address><strong>Academic Requirements<\/strong><\/address>\n<ul>\n<li>English 12 (B) or three credits of a university\/college first-year transferable English composition course with a (C+) <strong>and<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bcit.ca\/admission\/upgrading\/englishproficiency.shtml\" target=\"_blank\">English language proficiency<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Biology 12 (C+) or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bcit.ca\/study\/courses\/bhsc0100\" target=\"_blank\">BHSC&nbsp;0100<\/a> or equivalent*<\/li>\n<li>Chemistry 11 (C+)<\/li>\n<li>One of the following math requirements:\n<ul>\n<li>Principles of Mathematics 11 (C+) or 12 (C)<\/li>\n<li>Applications of Mathematics 12 (C+)<\/li>\n<li>Foundations of Mathematics 11 (B) or 12 (C+)<\/li>\n<li>Pre-Calculus 11 (C+) or 12 (C)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bcit.ca\/study\/courses\/math0007\" target=\"_blank\">MATH&nbsp;0007<\/a> (C+)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<address><strong>Selection Process<\/strong><\/address>\n<ul>\n<li>Priority is given to applicants who have completed a minimum of 30 credits of post-secondary education, including a university\/college composition course and 6 credits of introductory Psychology or Sociology (or 3 credits of each) prior to applying to the program<\/li>\n<li>The Nursing program does not maintain a waitlist; the selection is by competition. BCIT does not guarantee admission to applicants who meet the minimum requirements. The Nursing program mandate is to select those applicants deemed to have the best opportunity for success. BCIT assigns priority to applicants based on the number of post-secondary credits and\/or health-related work experience. Short-listed applicants must have at least one year of post-secondary education (30 credits).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>UBC<\/h3>\n<p>To be considered for admission to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, with advanced standing, applicants must have a completed bachelor\u2019s degree or significant progress (minimum of 48 credits) toward a degree in another field of study.<\/p>\n<p>In this accelerated program, students enter at a level equivalent to that of third-year university and complete 81 credits in five consecutive terms. Because of limitations in clinical placements and resources, enrolment is limited.<\/p>\n<p>UBC School of Nursing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nursing.ubc.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\">Website Link<\/a><\/p>\n<address><strong>Prerequisites<\/strong><\/address>\n<ul>\n<li>First-year English (3 credits): English 112 is recommended or an equivalent first year higher education English composition course.<\/li>\n<li>Human Anatomy and Physiology (6 credits): BIOL 153 (7 credits) is recommended or an equivalent human anatomy and physiology course\/courses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Douglas College<\/h3>\n<p>Effective Fall 2013, secondary school applicants will no longer be able to apply directly into our Nursing program.&nbsp; Grade 12 students interested in Nursing should apply to our new <strong>Academic Foundations in Nursing<\/strong> program and take the required prerequisite courses to apply for the BSc Nursing program:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bachelor of Science in Nursing Academic Admission Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applicants must satisfy the Academic Foundations of Nursing requirements. The requirements include the completion of 30 university transfer credits (10 \u2013 3 credit courses) (or one of the equivalents) with a minimum grade of C+ (65%) in each course as listed below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>BIOL 1103 Human Anatomy and Physiology I<\/li>\n<li>BIOL 1203 Human Anatomy and Physiology II<\/li>\n<li>BIOL 2401 Introductory Microbiology for Health Sciences OR BIOL 2400 General Microbiology<\/li>\n<li>BIOL 2200 Pathophysiology<\/li>\n<li>ENGL 1130 Academic Writing<\/li>\n<li>English Elective (3 credit University Transferable)<\/li>\n<li>MATH 1160 Introduction to Statistics OR PSYC 2300 Data Analysis in Psychology<\/li>\n<li>Any Human Social Sciences Course (3 credit University Transferable) (Recommended subject areas include: Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Women\u2019s Studies)<\/li>\n<li>2 Open Elective Courses ( each course is 3 credit University Transferable)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Full program and admission details can be found online in our Program and Courses page (Calendar):<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.douglas.bc.ca\/calendar\/programs\/pgn.html\">http:\/\/www.douglas.bc.ca\/calendar\/programs\/pgn.html<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Langara College<\/h3>\n<p>As there are new admissions requirements, please check Admission Requirements for complete details.<\/p>\n<p>Langara Bachelor of Science in Nursing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.langara.bc.ca\/health-human\/nursing\/\" target=\"_blank\">Website Link<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Kwantlen University<\/h3>\n<p>Students are encouraged to complete the non-nursing courses prior to admission or during the semester in which they are scheduled.
