The Languages Department at Alpha strives to help students learn the language of their choice in ways that help bring the language and culture to life.\u00a0 \u00a0Teachers integrate strategies such as TPRS and AIM as well as music, art and culture to help students engage in their learning of a foreign language.<\/p>\n

Alpha offers Core French as well as French Immersion.\u00a0 We also have Mandarin and Spanish classes.\u00a0 The Languages Department offers many opportunities to use the language such as inviting a Crepe truck to come to the school, Flamenco dancing exhibitions, participating in the French Speech Contest (Concours), drumming, storytelling and much more.<\/p>\n

Meet the amazing languages teachers:<\/p>\n

Maria Di Lauro<\/strong>– Mme Di Lauro is the Languages Department Head.\u00a0 She is also qualified to teach Italian, Spanish and ELL.<\/p>\n

Franca Di Nunzio<\/strong>– Ms. Di Nunzio is the Spanish teacher at Alpha.\u00a0 She uses the TPRS method of teaching.\u00a0 She also teaches French.<\/p>\n

Pierre Dub\u00e9<\/strong>– M. Dub\u00e9 teaches both Core French and French Immersion.\u00a0 He uses the AIM method of teaching with the junior grades.\u00a0 You can get information about M. Dub\u00e9’s classes here:\u00a0http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/dubep\/<\/a><\/p>\n

Tyler Graham<\/strong>– M. Graham teaches both Core French and French Immersion.\u00a0 He is interested in integrating the AIM method in his teaching.<\/p>\n

Catherine Godin<\/strong>– Madame Godin teachers both Core French and Immersion.<\/p>\n

William (Bill) Harvey<\/strong>– M.Harvey teaches both Core French and Immersion.\u00a0 He is also the sponsor for the Cross Country team.<\/p>\n

April Xiao<\/strong>– Ms. Xiao teaches Mandarin at all the levels<\/p>\n
