It is recommended that students who are thinking of going into commerce or business administration for post-secondary schooling that they take senior Business Education courses. The courses will give students solid understanding of the basic foundations of business as they start their college\/university education.<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/header>\n
\n

Commerce\/Business Administration degrees will require students to take courses in at least accounting, economics and marketing. Students going into science would likely have taken science courses in high school, so why wouldn\u2019t students going into commerce take business courses in high school?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

To get a good \u201cleg-up\u201d on your first-year courses, we strongly suggest students take at least the following:
\nAccounting 11
\nFinancial Accounting 12
\nEconomics 12
\nAP Microeconomic
\nAP Macroeconomics \u00a0(if you pass both AP courses, you will receive credit for Econ 12)
\n**Micro\/Macro are BComm and BBA requirements, if you pass the AP exam with a score of 4 or\u00a0 5, you will receive credit for the course and will not need to take the courses (saving yourself tuition fees and textbook costs)<\/p>\n

Business Administration\u00a0Summit Program:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Student interested in business can enter the Summit Program.\u00a0 There are two program options where students can focus their courses.\u00a0 The program works in partnership with the BCIT School of Business to provide value-added opportunities.<\/p>\n
