Students will gain experience in preparing quick breads, breakfasts, soups, pasta and quick meals. Creative group labs will allow students to plan a meal together while demonstrating the cooking and baking skills they have learned.\u00a0 Students will learn basic sewing techniques to complete projects such as an apron, Pajama pants and a pullover hoodie on the sewing machine. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"normal\"><span class=\"normal__Char\"><strong>Evaluation<\/strong>:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"normal\"><span class=\"normal__Char\">In the Foods and Nutrition portion, students will work in partner and groups for labs and individually for theory work.\u00a0 In the Sewing and Textiles portion, students work individually for projects and samples and there is minimal theory work. \u00a0The focus for this course is based on practical in-class work so attendance and punctuality are necessary for success. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"normal\"><strong><span class=\"normal__Char\">Who should take this course:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"normal\"><span class=\"normal__Char\">If you want to create your own unique clothing and whip up a delicious creation in the kitchen, this is the course for you.\u00a0 Students in this course should have an interest in cooking and sewing, be willing to participate in class activities and actively contribute to a positive classroom environment.
