This year we have started reading five amazing Canadian Picture books in the library with many of the primary classes.  Each of these books have been nominated for either the Marilyn Baillie Picture Book Award<\/a> or the Governor General’s Book Award<\/a>.  Each week we read one of the books and discuss how it meets the criteria of a great picture book. Some of the questions we ask ourselves include: Does it have beautiful and unique illustrations that grab our attention? Does it touch our heart and help us make connections? Does it change our thinking? Does it make us feel something? <\/p>\n
