{"id":94,"date":"2011-05-09T15:33:04","date_gmt":"2011-05-09T22:33:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/10.155.6.59\/south-counselling\/"},"modified":"2015-10-14T21:02:32","modified_gmt":"2015-10-14T21:02:32","slug":"peacemakers","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/south-counselling\/peacemakers\/","title":{"rendered":"Peacemakers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Peacemakers are students in Grade 8 through 12, who are good role models for their peers.\u00a0 They are sensitive to other\u2019s feelings, have a genuine interest in helping others, and positively impact the school community.\u00a0 Peacemakers communication skills, leadership potential, responsibility and personality have helped them succeed in the high school environment.<\/p>\n<p>Peacemakers students work under the supervision of a teacher, mentor and\/or administrator to provide mediation to students.\u00a0 In such, students will develop skills in communication, interpersonal relations, leadership, anger management, teamwork, conflict management, resolution and mediation.\u00a0 Students will also learn the value and complexity of helping disputants create workable solutions.\u00a0 Training and practice in these skills will not only help the individual student, but will also help the school and larger community through a positive ripple affect as students model their skills.\u00a0 <strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Peacemakers are students in Grade 8 through 12, who are good role models for their peers.\u00a0 They are sensitive to other\u2019s feelings, have a genuine interest in helping others, and positively impact the school community.\u00a0 Peacemakers communication skills, leadership potential, responsibility and personality have helped them succeed in the high school environment.
