{"id":1095,"date":"2011-10-07T18:32:18","date_gmt":"2011-10-07T18:32:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/south-counselling\/?page_id=1095"},"modified":"2011-10-07T19:14:37","modified_gmt":"2011-10-07T19:14:37","slug":"work-ethic-honour-roll","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/south-counselling\/scholarships\/work-ethic-honour-roll\/","title":{"rendered":"Work Ethic Honour Roll"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Burnaby South recognizes that development of a good work ethic extends far beyond High School.<\/p>\n<p>To that end, the Work Ethics Honour Roll will recognize students who achieve straight \"G's\" (and\/or \"E's\") in all their classes for each term.<\/p>\n<p>The number of classes a student is enrolled in does not factor into whether a student is eligible or not.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Work Ethics Honour Roll Criteria is as follows:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Students will receive a mark out of 4 (<em>Exceeds Expectations, Fully Meets Expectations, Meets Minimal Expectations<\/em> or <em>Not Yet Within Expectations<\/em>), based on 4 different criteria (<em>Responsibility, Respect, Participation, Cooperation &amp; Teamwork<\/em>), for a maximum of 16 points.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To receive an \"E\" (Excellent), a student must achieve 16 points<\/li>\n<li>To receive a \"G\" (Good), a student must achieve between 12-15 points<\/li>\n<li>To receive an \"S\" (Satisfactory), a student must achieve between 8-11 points<\/li>\n<li>To receive an \"N\" (Needs Improvement), a student must achieve 7 or less points<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Work Ethics Honour Roll Criteria Rubric:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Responsibility<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Exceeds Expectations (4 points): <em>Comes to class on time, prepared with all materials. \u00a0Completes all homework and hands in assignments on time. \u00a0Seeks responsibility<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Fully Meets Expectations (3 points): \u00a0<em>Usually on time and prepared. \u00a0Completes most homework and assignments on time. \u00a0willingly takes\u00a0responsibility\u00a0when asked<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Meets Minimal Expectations (2 points): \u00a0<em>Inconsistently on time and prepared with work completed. \u00a0Accepts\u00a0responsibility\u00a0only if directed<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Not Yet Within Expectations (1 point): \u00a0<em>Often late and not prepared. \u00a0Homework and assignments are rarely completed<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Respect<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Exceeds Expectations (4 points): \u00a0<em>Always demonstrates respect for people, equipment and facilities<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Fully Meets Expectations (3 points): \u00a0<em>Usually demonstrates respect for people and equipment. \u00a0Willingly takes\u00a0responsibility\u00a0for actions<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Meets Minimal Expectations (2 points): \u00a0<em>Unable to work productively unless with specific people, or reluctant to take\u00a0responsibility\u00a0for actions<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Not Yet Within Expectations (1 point): \u00a0<em>At times rude to people or abusive with equipment or unwilling to take responsibility for actions<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Participation<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Exceeds Expectations (4 points): \u00a0<em>Always enthusiastic and motivated. \u00a0Requires no encouragement<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Fully Meets Expectations (3 points): \u00a0<em>Usually enthusiastic and motivated, may need minimal\u00a0encouragement\u00a0at times<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Meets Minimal Expectations (2 points): \u00a0<em>Inconsistently motivated, at times reluctant, requires regular encouragement<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Not Yet Within Expectations (1 point): \u00a0<em>Unenthusiastic. \u00a0Unmotivated and requires constant encouragement<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Cooperation &amp; Teamwork<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Exceeds Expectations (4 points): \u00a0<em>Always a positive role model, encourages others. \u00a0Works well with other students<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Fully Meets Expectations (3 points): \u00a0<em>Usually a positive role model, working well with others<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Meets Minimal Expectations (2 points): \u00a0<em>Reluctant in leadership roles.
