BC SCHOOL SPORTS BADMINTON SCHOLARSHIP

Two scholarships of $500 each will be awarded to one male and one female student-athlete.

Criteria includes participation in badminton for a school team, volunteerism and involvement in their community.

Students must be Canadian citizens, permanent resident, or refugee.

MISSION CREEK ORTHODONTICS SCHOLARSHIP

To be eligible for the MCO Scholarship a student must:

  1. Be attending college or university no later than December of 2015.
  2. Be attending college or university on a full-time basis by December of 2015.
  3. Submit an answer to the essay question:
    • The year is 2015.You have been asked to buy a toy for an 8 year old child in the local elementary school.Your only guidelines are the following:
      1. The toy must not require power to operate(ie.no batteries or plugins are necessary to use the toy)
      2. The toy must help the child develop a skill that is beneficial in an educational environment. For example,many studies suggest a correlation between spatial skills and early interaction with toy blocks, such as Legos.Good spatial ability is essential in engineering, physics, math, and computer science

IAPMO ESSAY SCHOLARSHIP

The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO), a worldwide organization of dedicated professionals striving to make our planet a safer and healthier place in which to live, will again sponsor an essay competition awarding scholarships to three young people.

Participants in this year’s contest will submit essays expressing their thoughts on “What role can IAPMO play in helping the plumbing industry develop new sources of potable water?”

Eligibility Requirements
Must be a current high school senior; or enrolled or accepted as a full-time (12 credit hours) student in an accredited technical school, community college, trade school, four-year accredited college or university, or an apprentice program

LM SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The LM Scholarship Program provides a $500 scholarship to a deserving student who is:

  1. Currently enrolled or expects to be enrolled in a degree program (2 years of length or greater) by September.
  2. must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  3. Submit an answer to the essay question prior to the submission deadline:
    •  Write an essay about a situation you have been involved in or someone you know has been involved in where better safety procedures would have prevented an injury.  Explain in detail what safety procedures you believe should have been in place to prevent the injury and how they would have prevented the injury.

SUBWAY SOCCER SCHOLARSHIP

There will be four scholarships of $500 each that will be awarded to two male and two female student-athlete enrolled in member schools

BETTY SPALTON SCHOLARSHIP

The Betty Spalton Trust Fund was established in 1999 to provide financial support to individuals obtaining an education in fields associated with the road building and heavy construction industry

The Betty Spalton Education Fund is a merit-based scholarship, awarding the successful candidate $1,500 for study and living expenses.
