YOUTH IN MOTION - TOP 20 UNDER 20

Top 20 Under 20™ wants to celebrate youth who share in this vision and are impacting positive change—both locally and globally.

Every year, 20 Canadians under the age of 20 will be selected for having demonstrated a significant level of innovation, leadership, and achievement in their communities and abroad.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Under the age of 20 (no older than 19 years of age as of December 31, 2014).
  • A Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Have a desire to pursue some form of education or training, whether that be Canadian secondary, post-secondary or training education (high school or equivalent, CEGEP, GED, college, university, training or apprenticeship programs).
  • All applications must include a letter of endorsement from a “sponsor”

BCGEU Scholarships

BC Government and Service Employees’ Union is offering $45000 in scholarship awards for students who are BCGEU members or relatives of BCGEU members or staff.

  • $3,000.00 for full-time students
  • $2,000.00 for part-time students

CMOLIK FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Awarded to deserving B.C. students who have demonstrated character, a good work ethic, and persistence in achieving their goals, and who require financial assistance to be able to attend a post-secondary institution full time (university, college or trade school).

Scholarships range in amount up to $35,000 for funding of tuition and books leading to an undergraduate degree, paid in yearly instalments over a maximum of 5 years

BLACK PRESS UVIC BUSINESS SCHOLARSHIP

Offered only to BC students entering the University of Victoria’s Peter Gustavson School of Business

Black Press $5,000 entrance scholarship is offered to 37 school districts in BC.

BC SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENTS GRADE 12 SCHOLARSHIP

Offered to Grade 12 students planning post-secondary studies in Education in 2015

Criteria include academic achievement, and outstanding service and leadership within the school and community.

6 Provincial finalists will be chosen: the winner will be awarded $1,500, with the remaining 5 finalists receiving $500 each.

Applicants must provide proof of application to a post-secondary institution.

RBC STUDENTS LEADING CHANGE SCHOLARSHIP ($10,000)

The Royal Bank of Canada is offering a total of five, $10,000 scholarship awards to students (Canadian citizens or permanent residents) entering post-secondary in Fall 2015 with a cumulative GPA of 70%, who can share their thoughts on leadership and  inspiring positive change in their communities.

Every applicant will have the option to apply for a Me to We Trip as part of their award - 2 awarded.

RBC ABORIGINAL STUDENT AWARDS PROGRAM

Awards Aboriginal students up to $4,000 each academic year for 2 – 4 years for tuition, living expenses and school supplies.

10 scholarships are awarded in 2 categories

  • for studies related to the financial services industry
  • for studies in any post-secondary program.

Students must attend a Canadian post-secondary institution, maintain a full course load leading to a degree, diploma or certificate, must demonstrate financial need, and must be a Status Indians, a Non-Status Indian, Inuit & Metis.

TRIUMF HIGH SCHOOL FELLOWSHIP

This is offered each year to graduating secondary students entering their first undergraduate year at a recognized post-secondary institution.

It includes an award of $3,000 and a six-week summer research experience at TRIUMF.

Students must be nominated by their schools, to a maximum of two students per school.

It is for students who have a passionate interest and wish to pursue a career in the sciences, especially physics.

Mr. Kwan must receive your application no later than Tuesday, February 25, 2014 as the final deadline is February 28, 2014

TELUS BC SECONDARY SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION (BCSSGBA) SCHOLARSHIP

TELUS is once again sponsoring the BCSSGBA Scholarships Program.

The $2,000 scholarships will be presented to five female student athletes that will be continuing their post-secondary education and basketball career at a Canadian College or University for the 2014-15 academic year

These scholarships will be awarded to athletes with a proficiency in basketball and who demonstrate leadership qualities and skills including community involvement and proven academic performance
