  • What the Hospitality Management Diploma Program consists of
  • Who should take the Hospitality Management Diploma?
  • How long the Diploma is
  • Where to find a job once you complete your Diploma
  • Transfer Opportunities to Universities to complete a Bachelor's Degree
This Presentation is open to all students from Grade 10 through Grade 12.

Hey Grads,

At this time of Job Action, we are still unsure what Term 2 Report Cards will look like (ie; will they be the same as Term 1, or will it be a regular Term 2 Report Card?).

Since the majority of Universities base acceptance on Term 2 marks, it is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that you have all of your Term 2 marks recorded, even though you have filled out your PSI form (remember, no marks recorded, means that PSI won't have anything either).

To make sure that all of your Colleges and Universities receive your Term 2 grades, please bring the Grade 12 PAC Form around to all of your Teachers to have your Term 2 mark recorded.

Once you have all of your marks, please hand it in to the Front Office, so that it can be transferred to an Official Transcript

You can download the Grade 12 PAC Form here

NOTE:  For those of you who have applied to University of Toronto, you MUST send in a paper copy of your Term 2 Report Card (they have informed us that they will be looking at BOTH Term 1 & Term 2 marks for acceptance)

Admission offers for Fall 2012 are underway

In late-January we began making offers of admission and scholarship for Fall 2012. We will continue to make offers through to mid-June.

Our self-reported grades website will be open until April 30 to allow Alberta, Ontario and BC students the opportunity to report their grades when they become available.  Because of BC teacher job action, we strongly advise ALL BC grade 12 students to self-report their marks.  Students must provide complete grade and/or course data, and will be notified immediately if more information is required for an admission decision.

Graduating BC grade 12s must have completed the electronic Post-Secondary Institutions (PSI) Selections Form before April 30 in order for us to receive their official interim marks from the BC Ministry of Education in May.  Ontario students must ensure that they have provided their Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) reference number so that we may receive their grades automatically. Applicants from other provinces should request an official interim transcript be sent to us (Admissions, Simon Fraser University, 8888 University Drive, Burnaby BC V5A 1S6).

All students must accept their offer of admission by paying the $250 admission deposit by June 1. Official interim grades are due June 15 for all students. Supporting documents, such as proof of citizenship, must be received by June 15. Final, official grades including proof of high school graduation must be received by August 15 to maintain an offer of admission for the Fall term.

Hey Grads,

Here are some important bits of information for those of you who are Applying to the University of Toronto 🙂

Applications
Soon after an application is submitted to OUAC, students will receive an email acknowledgement of their application from Admissions and Awards, containing their 9-digit U of T applicant number. This acknowledgement also contains instructions on how to log into the Join UofT applicant portal, where students can check their application status, chat with fellow applicants and learn more about next steps. We recommend students check the Join UofT portal often to confirm that we have received all required documentation. Any changes to an application, including contact information, must be made on OUAC.

Students applying to the Rotman Commerce program must complete an onlinepersonal statement to be considered for admission.  Information about the personal statement is included in the application acknowledgement package.

Students who ranked either Trinity College or Victoria College as their first choice are strongly recommended to complete a college profile to enhance their application for membership in these colleges.  Information about these profiles has been sent to all Trinity College and Victoria College first-choice applicants.

Offers
Decisions will be made roughly 6-8 weeks after the application has been received.  Students should check the Join UofT portal for the most up to date admission information.

College Rankings
All Arts & Science students will be assigned to one of seven colleges upon admission. College choice does not impact academic choice in any way - these are small "neighbourhoods" within the larger U of T community, where students will access resources as well as social and extra-curricular opportunities. If students live in residence, they will most likely live and dine at their college. All applicants will rank their college preference from 1 - 7 on the OUAC website at the time of application.  Students may change their college rankings on OUAC until their application is under review.

Residence
U of T guarantees housing to all new full-time students who are admitted by May 31st and who indicated on their application that they are interested in housing. Colleges will provide students with more information about their residence application at the time of admission or shortly thereafter. Students should contact their college directly if they have questions.

If students prefer an alternative to college residence, they may wish to consider Chestnut Residence, a U of T residence located a 15-minute walk from campus. With over 1000 students of all backgrounds, cultures and religions, Chestnut Residence houses students from all U of T faculties.

Application Deadline
Deadline for receipt of all documents, including school transcripts and proof of English facility (if required) is April 30th
