Social\u00a0<\/span><\/span>thinking is a term that refers to\u00a0<\/span><\/span>how we understand and think about other<\/span><\/span>\u00a0people.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span>To be<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>a\u00a0<\/span><\/span>human<\/span><\/span>\u00a0is to be social<\/span><\/span>!\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Social\u00a0<\/span><\/span>thinking is\u00a0<\/span><\/span>developmental and\u00a0<\/span><\/span>is language-based, meaning it is for students who are using language to communicate.\u00a0 It also involves<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>c<\/span><\/span>ognitive skills<\/span><\/span>, and the ability to think about thinking and talk about thinking.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Students need to learn how the social world works and how to regulate themselves to participate successfully within it.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span>We can\u00a0<\/span><\/span>develop<\/span><\/span>\u00a0our social thinking abilities<\/span><\/span>\u00a0when we are thinking about others\u00a0<\/span><\/span>in<\/span><\/span>–<\/span><\/span>person,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>in a book<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/span>\u00a0or<\/span><\/span>\u00a0in a video<\/span><\/span>, and we can continue to improve our skills all the way into adulthood.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
