One of them is Black History Month in which we celebrate and acknowledge the contributions Black people have made to the history and culture of Canada. One class is reading <em><strong>Underground to Canada<\/strong><\/em>, a fictional work about the Underground Railroad and another class is reading\u00a0<em><strong>Elijah of Buxton<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0by Christopher Paul Curtis. I&#8217;ll be showing these classes literature and non-fiction books related to this topic. Also,\u00a0they will be\u00a0exploring\u00a0the Canadian Museum of Civilization&#8217;s virtual museum exhibit titled \u00a0<a title=\"Canadian Black History\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cic.gc.ca\/english\/games\/museum\/index.asp\" target=\"_blank\">Canadian Black History: An Interactive Experience<\/a>\u00a0.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There are many celebrations and events during the month of February.
