Criteria<\/h6>\n

The Burnaby Exempt Employees Society (BEES) is pleased to be awarding three
\nscholarships in 2026 to students graduating from a high school in School District #41
\n(Burnaby) who demonstrate diverse strengths, achievements, and contributions to their
\ncommunity and who meet the following criteria:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. BEES Community Leader Scholarship<\/strong> \u2013 One (1) scholarship in the amount of $2000
    \neach will be awarded to students who have:
    \nBeen actively involved in the community, whether it be through volunteering or work experience or other contributions beyond what is required for graduation reflecting their
    \nunique skills or efforts to support their community; and<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          • Demonstrated leadership in Burnaby through consistent and outstanding dedication to a
            \ncommunity initiative, making their community a better place or creating a positive impact
            \nwithin their community.BEES Community Leader Scholarship \u2013 One (1) scholarship in the amount of $2000<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
          • The Chad Turpin Scholarship<\/strong> \u2013 One (1) scholarship in the amount of $2000 will be
            \nawarded to a student who:Maintained a good academic standing.
            \n\u2022 Is interested in pursuing a career in public administration, public policy or public service
            \nin general; and
            \n\u2022 Has a need for financial assistance to pursue their education, for example, a student that
            \nmust secure employment while attending school.<\/li>\n
          • BEES Trades, or Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (\u201cSTEAM\u201d)<\/strong>
            \nScholarship \u2013 One (1) scholarship in the amount $2000 will be awarded to a student who:
            \n\u2022 Is interested in pursuing a career in Trades or STEAM.
            \n\u2022 Been actively involved in the community, whether it be through volunteering or work
            \nexperience or other contributions beyond what is required for graduation reflecting their
            \nunique skills or efforts to support their community; and
            \n\u2022 Has a need for financial assistance to pursue their education, for example, a student that
            \nmust secure employment while attending school.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            All three of these scholarships will be awarded to students who are furthering their
            \neducation at an accredited BC post-secondary college or university or attending a
            \nvocational training program at a designated post-secondary technical, trades or vocational
            \ninstitution. The recipient will be required to provide proof of enrollment in a qualified<\/strong>
            \nprogram to receive the scholarship payment.<\/strong><\/p>\n
