Schulich Leader Scholarships

We are proud to announce Schulich Leader Scholarships for students enrolling in one of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) areas of study at participating Canadian universities in Fall 2017. Those chosen as Schulich Leaders will ultimately help to ensure that Canada is at the forefront of excellence in science and research for generations to come.

Schulich Leader Scholarships asks every high school, secondary school and CEGEP across Canada to select one student to represent their school as a Schulich Leader Nominee.  From this pool of nominees, 20 participating universities across Canada will each choose one outstanding student to be their Schulich Leader, each of whom will receive a four-year scholarship valued at $60,000 to support their studies at that university in a STEM faculty.

The following criteria must be followed in selecting a Schulich Leader Nominee at your school:

  1. Graduate high school or Cégep in the 2017/2018 academic year
  2. Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  3. Plan to enroll in STEM at one of our partner universities
  4. Meet at least two of the following criteria:
    • Academic excellence
    • Leadership (community, business or entrepreneurial)
    • Financial need
  5. Not planning a career as a medical practitioner

Procedure: If you would like to be nominated for this award, please submit your name via email to…be sure your full name is in the body of your email and you have written  Schulich Leader Applicant in the subject line by MONDAY JANUARY 22nd, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. You will be later be notified if you are the chosen candidate from Burnaby Mountain, and asked to complete the application in the next two weeks.

Your student profile must be filled out and on file in Ms. Martens’ room before you will be considered for this award.
