Career Education – Course Selection 2026-27<\/strong><\/h3>\n

All Grade 10 and 11 students are requested to fill in this survey by: Sunday, Jan 25, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n

Burnaby School District offers the following options within the Career Education Department:<\/p>\n

  1. Work Experience 30 or 80 hours<\/a>\u00a0Gr 11 \/ 12<\/li>\n
  2. Explore Skills and Technology\u00a0<\/a> Gr 9 \/ 10<\/li>\n
  3. Industry Training Programs<\/a>\u00a0– Application 2026<\/a> – Deadline is March 2, 2026 (1st round of applications)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Burnaby School District offers a variety of industry training programs. They are categorized into three types: Youth Train in Trades, Industry Certification programs, and Industry Connect Programs.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Youth Train In Trades (formerly ACE-IT)<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Work toward apprenticeship level one technical training certification.<\/p>\n

    Youth Work In Trades –\u00a0Secondary School Apprenticeship<\/a><\/h3>\n

    Earn while you learn. Gain high school credits while working in your paid apprenticeship and getting your work-based training hours to become certified in your trade.\u00a0 You could qualify for a $1000 Ministry of Education Award.<\/p>\n
