Field Trip Drivers

Hello parents

Here is the drivers list, thank you to all the volunteers! We have such a huge parent turn out this time! Due to limited parking at the school, I am suggesting parents park at Kensington for drop off. We will do attendance, morning meeting and discuss the day plan for the day. We will leave at approximately 9:30am.

Here is the list of drivers. If possible, perhaps find a parent to carpool with to eliminate all the cars? Parents, you also have the option of leaving from the library at the end of the day so keep that in mind ๐Ÿ™‚

Due to weather, we will NOT be using the water park tomorrow.

Don’t forget to pack a lunch! Snacks will be provided. See you tomorrow ๐Ÿ™‚

Merci,

Mme. Marando

Report Cards and Portfolios

Cher parents,

This term report cards will look a bit differently than last term due to all the additional information required. Therefore, the actual report card will briefly indicate whether your child is approaching, meeting or exceeding the expectations for the term. The detailed information will be listed in an attached overview so that you can see specifically what was taught this term. Most evidence of learning will be found in the portfolio. So the best way to view the report card this term will be in conjunction with the portfolio and overview. This will give you the best picture of how and what your child has learned this term.

Based on parent feedback, the portfolios will be sent home Monday June 19th and will need to be returned no later than Friday June 23rd. The purpose of sending home the portfolios will be for parents to see your child’s learning thus far as opposed to leaving it all for the last day of school. This quick glimpse into the portfolio should give you an indication as to how your child has done this term and what they have learned. The students will add their final pieces as well as complete their self-evaluation of their portfolio work the week of June 26th. Portfolios will go home with the report cards on Thursday June 29th.

I hope this is clear…Questions? Please let me know!

Merci!

Collecting Animals: Recently I have noticed a growing interest in animal habitats. This will frame our learning for the month of June. I would like to collect various animals to add to a basket for us to use for sorting and science. If your child has toy animals or stuffed animals that they would like to bring in to add to this basket, please send them in. They will get them back near the end of the month. If you have any toys you would like to donate to the classroom, please indicate when sending them in. I would love small toy animal donations to add to our collection ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you!
