{"id":2430,"date":"2013-03-10T14:33:24","date_gmt":"2013-03-10T21:33:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/learningtech\/?p=2430"},"modified":"2013-09-01T06:04:44","modified_gmt":"2013-09-01T13:04:44","slug":"lightbulb-moment-conversation-in-the-round","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/learningtech\/2013\/03\/lightbulb-moment-conversation-in-the-round\/","title":{"rendered":"Lightbulb Moment &#8211; Conversation in the Round"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Recently an email landed in my box with a link to a voicethread. \u00a0For those of you who haven&#8217;t seen\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/voicethread.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">VoiceThread<\/a><\/strong>, it&#8217;s a\u00a0handy tool for collaborative communication out on the web.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/learningtech\/files\/2013\/03\/voicethread.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2431\" title=\"voicethread\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/learningtech\/files\/2013\/03\/voicethread-300x186.jpg\" width=\"190\" height=\"100\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>But let&#8217;s start at the beginning. \u00a0I was involved in a planning project with a school envisioning a whole flip of their library. \u00a0Aaahh, &#8220;Martha Stewart&#8221; time! \u00a0An &#8220;L&#8221; shaped technology research pod, e-projection island, cozy corners and circles of literary conversations, all while engaging the senses and bringing the world in and amplifying voice out. \u00a0This \u00a0wonderful teacher-librarian wanted to show me exactly her ideas and thoughts &#8211; without me having to drive over. \u00a0She took a few photos and popped them into a voicethread along with her recorded voice. \u00a0Now I&#8217;ve worked with voicethreads before but always in curricular content. \u00a0It suddenly struck me as this slideshow was going on that I was privy to her thoughts with crystal clarity!
