As we navigate the environment of web2, we come to understand just how complex the writing process has become. \u00a0I like to think of this as opportunities to offer more &#8220;choice and voice&#8221; to our students (eg. personalized, dynamic and supportive).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Consider questions like:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Is writing different now that it involves the ability to include images, hyperlinks, audio, and video?<\/li>\n<li>What is our definition of what constitutes as writing using web tools? Has it changed over time?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our initial comments were added to our pin board (using <a href=\"http:\/\/wallwisher.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Wallwisher<\/a> &#8211; an online bulletin board). <iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: 1px solid #999999;\" src=\"http:\/\/wallwisher.com\/embed\/4wo7upn9rf\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"100%\" height=\"400px\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The tool we&#8217;re using to invite our students to the writing environment? \u00a0Google Docs allow us a venue to \u00a0explore and frame our thinking about the writing journey and how our students engage in the process. \u00a0[Google Docs, part of our Google Apps for Education platform provides an environment much like MSWord.] \u00a0Collaborative in nature and open to real time commenting suggest that this will help our writers strengthen their skills over time. \u00a0We&#8217;ll be writing more in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Here we go &#8211; \u00a0another exciting ride through the intricacies of Writers Workshop. \u00a0And you knew this was coming &#8211; with a twist.
