Raz-Plus Reading

Looking for a reading program to support struggling readers (those identified in Tier 2)? Raz-Plus (part of Learning A-Z that combines Reading A-Z with Raz-Kids) is a blended learning platform that includes an online reading support program with thousands of leveled books, projectable and printable books, and curricular support for teachers. Reading A-Z offers leveled books in French for the French Immersion classroom as well. The program is organized into four areas for students:

  • Listen to books for modeled fluency
  • Read books with pronunciation and vocabulary support
  • Record repeated readings to increase fluency and vocabulary automaticity
  • Answer comprehension questions

Available for teachers:

  • Online assessment tools – benchmark passages and books, high frequency words, alphabet assessment
  • Create custom assignments and monitor reading progress
  • Download materials like character and vocabulary cards, lesson plan ideas, discussion cards
  • Project books with or without prompts
Progress monitoring includes an online running record feature with fiction and non-fiction benchmark assessment passages, recorded retelling capability and interactive quizzes.  Assessments are tracked on a graph for all readings.  As well, mp3 recordings can be downloaded as a digital file to support ongoing self-reflection.
This powerful pilot program is offered to schools (LSS/ESL, grouped classrooms by school site).
