What a great turnout yesterday!!  A particular thanks to the elementary SIOP-trained teachers, especially Kathie Nakano and Sandy Krishna, for your contributions.  As promised, the powerpoint slides are attached so you can print colour copies.  Please mark February 1st on you calendar for our next session which will focus on the SIOP components of Interaction and Practice & Application.  Best wishes for a relaxing holiday- you’ve all earned it

Elementary ESLTeachers- Professional Development Opportunity

Remember to sign up for our 2011-2012 professional development series-Supporting English Language Learners in Elementary Schools.  Our focus this year will be on the use of  sheltered instruction strategies in kindergarten classrooms.  The first session will be on October 25th from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Schou.

ESL PSA Conference- October 21, 2011

Plan to attend the 21st Annual ESL PSA Conference, Teaching the MULTILINGUAL Brain, at Eric Hamber Secondary School in Vancouver on October 21, 2011.  The keynote presentation will be given by by Dr. Jim Cummins, Canada Research Chair and professor at OISE.  This is our annual opportunity to check out new resources, network with colleagues and attend a wide range of stimulating workshops.  Registration can be completed online through the ESL PSA website.
