Readers’ Choice Award 2021

For literacy week this year, Douglas Road Library held the 2nd annual Readers’ Choice Award. Students read three picture books then voted for their favourite. This year’s winner (by a landslide) was Sam and Dave Dig a Hole by Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen! This book is an engaging visual treat, and is available in our library!

This year’s Readers’ Choice Award was designed by Jaykob in Div. 6. Congratulations, Jaykob!

Douglas Road Home Reading Club 2020

This was a school year unlike any other… but that didn’t stop our Firebirds!

The video below recognizes students who completed 150 nights of home reading. These students have a love of books and a passion for reading that is truly inspiring. Each of them will have their name placed in one of our library books next fall. Until then, congratulations and thanks for being such amazing readers!
