We are ready and excited to meet the world handbell community at the symposium.
We are doing our final preparations for our performance at the Opening Ceremonies. We will play to over 650 people celebrating the start of the conference and for the procession of Presidents of International Guilds, Planning Committee and the Massed Ringing Conductors. We are very proud to be representing Burnaby School District.
Sound Wave has vacancies for the 2016/2017 season. Please join us! Ringers must attend a Burnaby School District school, and be in Grades 7 – 12. Email Janet.Nordstrand@sd41.bc.ca for more information!
Sound Wave and alumni are busy at work preparing to play the processional at the Opening Ceremonies of the International Handbell Conference. Ringers will play on July 26 at the Vancouver Convention Centre to over 700 ringers and guests. For more information on the conference click here
Sound Wave finished their season at Elim Village on May 6. We had the delight of performing for 200 seniors at a Spring Tea. Congratulations ringers! What a great year.
We are looking forward to our many performances this month! We will perform at four elementary schools on April 20th.
On April 25 we are performing at Byrne Creek Secondary School at 7:00pm. By donation! We are helping to fundraise for the Syrian refuges.
On May 6 we will travel to Elim Village in Surrey to perform for the Seniors there.
Lastly, we are working hard for our participation in the International Handbell Festival in Vancouver.
Sound Wave students are attending the International Handbell Symposium in July 2016 taking place in Vancouver. We are fundraising $2600 for registration for the event. Click here for more information.
So far we have had a bottle drive, bake sale, three concerts, received bursaries, and have sold chocolates.
