GIRLsmarts4tech is an organization hosted by the UBC Department of Computer Science that empowers girls* through engaging and transformative workshops. There is a brand new Web Development Bootcamp, which runs over the course of five Saturday sessions. Sessions will run from 10:00am – 3:00pm from Saturday, May 24th to Saturday, June 21st. All sessions will take place on UBC campus. Students will receive a campus tour, design and programming tutorials, talks with UBC researchers, and more! By the end, they’ll have hands-on experience with industry-standard tools like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Figma, and VSCode. No prior coding experience is necessary.
