The Faculty of Land and Food Systems (LFS) at UBC is excited to announce the schedule for our annual Taste of LFS Virtual Open House. This event is a week-long series that invites prospective students interested in applying to LFS to learn more about what being a student in our Faculty is really like. We hope students will join us from Monday, November 20 – Thursday, November 23, 2023!
The week will feature:
- Introduction to Land and Food Systems: Join our Academic Advisors for an overview of all things LFS. You’ll learn about our four degree programs and the specific majors therein as well as student support programs we offer and opportunities to get involved. You will also get the chance to ask current students about their experience in LFS!
- Food Nutrition and Health (FNH) Deep Dive: Join our Student Ambassadors and current FNH students as they take a closer look at the Food, Nutrition, and Health Program and the majors it offers. We’ll follow this up with a case study about the Nutrition Transition, so you can get the flavour of FNH coursework.
- Applied Biology (APBI) Deep Dive: Join our Student Ambassadors and current APBI students as they take a closer look at the Applied Biology program and the majors it offers. We’ll follow this up with a case study on wildlife-human conflict to understand the possibilities of APBI coursework.
- Seeds of Success—LFS and Your Career: hosted by our LFS Career Strategist, prospective students will get an overview of career and involvement opportunities available to undergraduate LFS students.
Registration is now open! You can find the schedule and register here.
