Do you enjoy learning about the brain and how our nervous system works?! Have you ever wondered what a career in neuroscience might be like or what networking opportunities exist in a university setting? The UBC Neuroscience Club is aiming to help get these questions answered for our grade 11 and 12 students. They are organizing an event this summer that aims to:
- Provide a fun networking and open-house style workshop
- Provide insight into the Neuroscience and Psychology programs at UBC for keen students that are already thinking about what degrees they would like to pursue.
The event will have guest speakers like: professors, graduate students, and a UBC Neuroscience program director. It will offer networking skills activities, information about what being a student in Neuroscience/Psychology would look like, and other general insights about university life.
The event will take place on Saturday, August 6th from 12PM-3PM at the Great Hall in the AMS Nest (on the UBC Vancouver campus). The event fee is $12 to cover an AMS food gift card for lunch and miscellaneous materials, payable by the student.
More information will be coming soon. In the meantime, please contact Ms. Falsetto at laida.falsetto@burnabyschools.ca or in B307 if you are interested or have questions.
Thank you,
