The Canadian Medical Hall of Fame hosts the Virtual Discovery Day in Health Sciences on Tuesday, Nov. 16 from 8:30-12:15pm.
The ½-day program comprises a keynote lecture, an interactive workshop opportunity and a career panel discussion. We will again use the event platform Accelevents to deliver the program. Two 15-minute breaks offering participants an optional “Peer Networking Opportunity” will also be included and ‘ exhibit booths’ will be available throughout the morning.
As always, students will have the opportunity to select their own workshop from a catalogue of options. Please note that, although our delivery model has been adapted temporarily, the program is still considered an individual learning opportunity and workshop spaces continue to be limited. As we have in the past, we ask you to select students (grades 10 – 12) interested in science to attend the event. NOTE: This year there will be no limit to the number of students per school allowed to register, although event capacity remains limited by the success of our workshop recruitment currently in progress.
Participants will require access to a computer, their own email address, headphones, video capabilities, internet connection that permits access to Accelevents and Zoom, and a quiet space. This may mean they attend virtually from home that morning or are in front of a computer in a dedicated space at school.
The BCCHRI event page is on our website at https://cdnmedhall.ca/bcchri2021. The program agenda and important dates are there as well.
OTHER IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Student/teacher registration opens on Tuesday, November 2 @ noon PDT
- The 2021 workshop catalogue will be posted on the CMHF website and sent out to contact teachers of pre-registered schools on Monday, November 1.
