For example, you may be cleaning up the environment, promoting social justice, or fighting child poverty. Check out what some of the <a class=\"td_rq_anchor-down {'targetedID':'Tab_3'}\">past scholarship recipients<\/a> have done to improve their community.<\/p>\n<p class=\"td-rte-margin-bottom-small\">TD Scholarships for Community Leadership are open to students across Canada who:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have demonstrated community leadership<\/li>\n<li>Are in the final year of high school (outside Quebec) or CEGEP (in Quebec)<\/li>\n<li>Have a minimum overall grade average of 75% in their most recently completed school year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What is it?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.td.com\/ca\/en\/personal-banking\/solutions\/student-banking\/community-leadership-scholarship-for-canadians\/\">TD Scholarship for Community Leadership<\/a> awards students up to $70,000 for college or university (up to $10,000 for tuition per year, $7,500 a year for living expenses) for 4 years. It\u2019s open to students across Canada who:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have demonstrated community leadership<\/li>\n<li>Are in final year of high school or CEGEP (in Quebec)<\/li>\n<li>Have a minimum overall grade average of 75% in their most recently completed school year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That\u2019s me! I want to apply!<\/p>\n<p>If this is something you\u2019re excited about, then you should <a href=\"https:\/\/portal.scholarshippartners.ca\/welcome\/td_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">learn more about the application process.<\/a>\u00a0But here is the general process:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Write a 600-word essay (three copies) describing your community leadership experience.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Why you got involved<\/li>\n<li>How your involvement shows initiative and innovation<\/li>\n<li>The ways your efforts have strengthened others<\/li>\n<li>How long you have been involved<\/li>\n<li>What you think the long-term impact will be<\/li>\n<li>How your community has affected you<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>2. Tell us about the other great things you\u2019re doing. Include a brief description of the range of your other community activities with:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A letter of recommendation from your school<\/li>\n<li>Two letters of support from community groups<\/li>\n<li>Your academic transcript<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>3.
