{"id":2295,"date":"2018-02-23T05:01:34","date_gmt":"2018-02-23T05:01:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/byrnecreek-scholarships\/?p=2295"},"modified":"2018-02-23T05:02:21","modified_gmt":"2018-02-23T05:02:21","slug":"1000-bccpac-award-for-a-well-rounded-student-in-grade-12-who-is-involved-and-interested-in-many-things-and-has-an-understanding-of-the-importance-of-parent-involvement-in-education-deadline-wednesda","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/byrnecreek-scholarships\/2018\/02\/23\/1000-bccpac-award-for-a-well-rounded-student-in-grade-12-who-is-involved-and-interested-in-many-things-and-has-an-understanding-of-the-importance-of-parent-involvement-in-education-deadline-wednesda\/","title":{"rendered":"$1000 BCCPAC Award for a well-rounded student who is has an understanding of the importance of parent involvement in education: Deadline Wednesday, February 28th"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 class=\"heading line1\"><span class=\"post hidden visible animated fadeInDown\">BCCPAC Educational Award<\/span><\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The BCCPAC Educational Award is granted annually to a well-rounded student in Grade 12 <strong>who is involved and interested in many things and has an understanding of the importance of parent involvement in education<\/strong>.\u00a0The student must be from a school that has a PAC that is a member of BCCPAC.\u00a0The following must be submitted:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Complete the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bccpac.bc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/2018-Education-Award-Application.pdf\">2018 Education Award Application<\/a>\u00a0showing specific plans as to immediate future academic, technical, or vocational education or training studies.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare a 300 to 500 word essay, on the value of parent involvement in education, with reference to Parent Advisory Councils (PACs), District Parent Advisory Councils (DPACs), and\/or BCCPAC.<\/li>\n<li>Include a cover letter with information about interests and evidence of good citizenship, leadership, sportsmanship, and community service.<\/li>\n<li>Include two letters of reference: one from an educator, and one from a community member, but not a relative of the applicant.\u00a0The references should comment on the applicant\u2019s good citizenship, leadership, sportsmanship, and community service.<\/li>\n<li>Provide copies of Grade 11 and Grade 12 report cards or transcripts to date.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Important:\u00a0 Children of current BCCPAC board members, staff, or contractors are not eligible to apply for this award.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This provincial award is in the amount $1000.<\/p>\n<p>Completed applications must be received by the BCCPAC office by <strong>February 28th<\/strong> each year.<\/p>\n<p>More information about the\u00a0BCCPAC student educational award\u00a0can be found\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/bccpac.us3.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=5ce4c360a02f3e3d90abca386&amp;id=a041081d5d&amp;e=f3eee1e5b8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here.<\/a><\/p>\n<h1 class=\"heading line1\"><\/h1>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BCCPAC Educational Award &nbsp;
