Deadline to apply is Friday, February 9th"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0Cmolik\u00a0Foundation\u00a0awards scholarships to deserving BC students who have demonstrated <strong>good work ethic, tenacity and other commendable attributes in achieving their academic and social goals and who, without our support, may not have the means to attend a post secondary institution<\/strong>.\u00a0 We look for students\u00a0that\u00a0have faced adversity, but through hard work and determination have been successful in\u00a0achieving their goals.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Applicants must have been residents of BC for the past\u00a07 years<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Foundation\u00a0will reimburse up to<strong> $35,000<\/strong> for books and tuition leading to an undergraduate degree.\u00a0 The maximum duration for funding is 5 consecutive years from the start of the student&#8217;s initial semester.\u00a0 Reimbursements are paid in installments throughout the duration of the program provided the students meet the\u00a0Foundation&#8217;s\u00a0scholarship\u00a0criteria.<\/p>\n<p>Each school may put forth one student who they feel meet the criteria.\u00a0\u00a0As a result,<strong> you must apply to the Byrne Creek Scholarship committee before Friday, February 9th<\/strong>. Once shortlisted, then you may apply directly to the Cmolik Foundation before February 15th.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to apply:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The following information is to be submitted to the Student Selection Committee when applying for the scholarship:<\/p>\n<p>1. Completed application form on their website <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thecmolikfoundation.com\">HERE<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>2. Two reference letters, one letter should be from a teacher or faculty member if currently in school. In the letter, the person you choose must verify the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You require financial assistance to be able to attend a post-secondary institution.<\/li>\n<li>You have the ability academically and emotionally to succeed in a post-secondary educational environment.<\/li>\n<li>You are of good character.<\/li>\n<li>You demonstrate the tenacity to achieve your goals.<\/li>\n<li>They believe you will be a contributing member of society once you have achieved your educational goals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>3. Official transcript of Grade 12 and\/or post secondary institution OR most recent report card<\/p>\n<p>4. Current photograph<\/p>\n<p>5.
