The Canadian Club of Vancouver\u00a0promotes Canadian identity and nurtures\u00a0a sense of citizenship and nationhood.\u00a0To instill a greater sense of pride in Canada, the Club presents the Maple Leaf Youth Awards.These awards recognize and reward exemplary achievements of students and youth in our community.<\/p>\n

Maple Leaf Youth Awards<\/p>\n

The awards are designed to recognize well rounded British Columbian students who demonstrate an understanding of Canadian identity and have exceptional achievements in two or more of the following:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Award nominees will be contacted by phone or email. The Award winners will be named during the event and will receive a special Maple Leaf plaque, a certificate, and the award cheque.<\/p>\n

The Essay<\/p>\n

July 1, 2017 marks the 150th birthday of Canada. Write an informative essay about what you like the most about Canada and what makes it unique from other countries. Include what\u00a0makes you proud to be Canadian.<\/p>\n

There are three awards:<\/p>\n

$1,500 – First Place<\/p>\n

$1,000 – Second Place<\/p>\n

$750 – Third Place<\/p>\n
