Winners receive a $5000 scholarship voucher to redeem when they are registered and attending an approved K-12 teacher education program at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bcteacherregulation.ca\/teachereducation\/teachereducationoverview.aspx\" target=\"_self\">one of BC\u2019s nine Faculties of Education<\/a>.<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"bc_h2\">Application<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Complete the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/assets\/gov\/education\/kindergarten-to-grade-12\/support\/awards\/pathway_teacher_education_application.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">application package (PDF)<\/a>, including the written statement worth 60% overall, and the resume worth 40% overall. It\u00a0must be completed online\u00a0using the mandatory format, printed, signed, and submitted by mail.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/assets\/gov\/education\/kindergarten-to-grade-12\/support\/awards\/pathway_teacher_education_scoring_guide.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Scoring guides (PDF)<\/a>\u00a0are available for reference. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>\n<p>Completed applications must be submitted to the Ministry no later than February 15, 2017, to:<\/p>\n<p>Provincial Scholarships Program<br \/>\nMinistry of Education<br \/>\nPO Box 9886 Stn Prov Govt<br \/>\nVictoria BC \u00a0V8W 9T6<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div>Selection of winners will be finalized after August 31, 2017<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"bc_paragraph\">Applicants must:<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/content\/education-training\/k-12\/support\/provincial-scholarships\/basic-eligibility-requirements\" target=\"_self\">Meet basic eligibility requirements<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Be in your graduation year with graduation to occur by August 31 of the school year in which you apply<\/li>\n<li>Be eligible for a B.C. Certificate of Graduation (Dogwood Diploma) and fulfill graduation requirements of the 2004 Graduation Program by August 31, 2017<\/li>\n<li>Have at least a:\n<ul>\n<li>&#8220;B&#8221; (73% or above) in your Language Arts 11 final mark<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;B&#8221; average in final course marks that fulfill graduation requirements of Science 11 or 12, Math 11 and Social Studies 11 or 12, with no more than one &#8220;C+&#8221; (67% or above) final course mark, (marks lower than \u201cC+\u201d are not accepted)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a \u201cB\u201d average or better in Grades 11 and 12 final course marks required for graduation<\/li>\n<li>Write and pass a Language\u00a0Arts 12 provincial examination<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"bc_paragraph\">You cannot win both a Pathway to Teacher Education Scholarship and a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/content\/education-training\/k-12\/support\/provincial-scholarships\/bc-excellence-scholarships\" target=\"_self\">BC Excellence Scholarship<\/a>.<\/div>\n<div class=\"bc_paragraph\">Your application package must include:<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Resume in the mandatory format<\/li>\n<li>Two reference letters, one from your\u00a0community and one from your\u00a0school<\/li>\n<li>A written statement, maximum 500 words, which describes why\u00a0you\u00a0want to be a teacher<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"bc_paragraph\">Winners must redeem their vouchers within 7 years of their high school graduation.\u00a0The expiry dates are shown on the vouchers. When redeeming, winners must provide a letter from their Faculty of Education confirming their enrolment in the K-12 teacher education program.<\/div>\n<div class=\"bc_paragraph\">Schools will be notified in June if there is a conditional winner from their school.
