(Please see below under cognitive assessment.)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">All supporting documentation (copies of the three report cards, IEP reports, psycho-educational assessment) should be uploaded to your child&#8217;s application, so please have the documents ready before you begin completing the application.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<h4><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; color: #0000ff; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong>COGNITIVE ASSESSMENT:<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Parents will be notified of their child\u2019s assessment date after the application deadline and upon receipt of all documentation required.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Children who attend school in Burnaby (SD41) will be assessed at their current homeschool between November 25th to December 13th, 2024.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Children who attend a school outside of Burnaby (SD41) will be notified about the date, time and location of the assessment. Preliminary planning has the assessment set for late November. <strong>Parents are responsible for transportation to and from the testing site. Due to space limitations, we ask that parents wait for their children at an off-site location.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The purpose of the screening assessment is to gain information regarding each candidate\u2019s cognitive profile. <strong>This\u00a0<\/strong><strong>gives a snapshot of the student\u2019s cognitive profile but is not a full psycho-educational assessment and the results should not be interpreted as such<\/strong>. We will be looking at the results as a screening tool in conjunction with information from the application package. <strong>No one criteria will determine a student\u2019s admittance into the program.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; color: #0000ff; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong>SELECTION COMMITTEE:<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Application materials will be reviewed by a selection committee composed of school-based and district staff. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>The selection process will be completed in two rounds.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Round 1:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li><strong>All student applications will be reviewed during Round 1.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Students who are selected to proceed to Round 2 will be notified by email by February 14, 2025.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Students not successful will also be notified by email by February 14, 2025.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Round 2:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li><strong>At the completion of Round 2, students will be notified by email by February 28, 2025 regarding their status in the program.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Students will be assigned a school or placed on a waitlist.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong>*DO NOT APPLY FOR CROSS CATCHMENT SCHOOL TRANSFER.<\/strong> Upon acceptance into a MACC Program, the student will automatically be granted a school transfer.
